Eviction Diversion Program Training

This 3-hour CLE program will prepare attendees to serve as volunteer mediators for Philadelphia’s Eviction Diversion Program (EDP). The EDP provides an opportunity for landlords and tenants to participate in (free) mediation before an eviction complaint is filed. The workshop will provide background information as well as important updates on how EDP has evolved since it was implemented in 2020; consequently, this CLE will be useful for both new and existing volunteers. We will also cover the new Targeted Financial Assistance (TFA) program that provides rental assistance for some landlords who participate in EDP.

Panelists will address the following topics among others:
  •  Background on Evictions in Philadelphia
  •  Basics of Landlord-Tenant Law and the Eviction Process
  •  Legislation Affecting Evictions in Philadelphia
  • EDP and TFA: the Law, and Logistics of Volunteering

This program is best suited for individuals with some mediation experience, but it is open to all.
